From the Field to Your Taxidermist with Confidence !
After 25 years in the taxidermy business, I learned one important lesson: a beautiful trophy mount begins long before it reaches the taxidermist.

Too often, hunters brought me animals that had been improperly skinned, damaged, or poorly handled in the field. Yet every hunter wanted the same thing — a magnificent mount they could proudly display for years.

That's why I created Taxidermy Made Simple.

My goal was to give everyday hunters the knowledge and confidence to properly prepare and care for their trophies, while helping taxidermists everywhere receive better-quality specimens.

What began as a DVD training series, with approximately 7,000 copies sold, has now evolved into TMS Outdoor — bringing practical, experience-based instruction to a new generation of hunters.

Preserving the Legacy
When I created Taxidermy Made Simple in 2008, I had a simple goal: share the knowledge I'd gained through years of working as a professional taxidermist with hunters who wanted to do things right.
I began producing instructional DVDs, advertising on Wild TV, and distributing my training through outdoor retailers and taxidermy suppliers. Eventually, approximately 7,000 DVDs were sold.
But technology changed, and so did the way people wanted to learn.
Today, TMS Outdoor brings that same practical knowledge directly to you through our online training library.
So, what does that mean for you?
Whether you're preparing your first whitetail deer, field dressing your game, or learning how to preserve a trophy for mounting, our training helps you understand what to do, why it matters, and how to avoid common mistakes.
You'll learn practical techniques developed through years of hands-on experience, with step-by-step video instruction you can watch at your own pace.
Our goal isn't to turn every hunter into a professional taxidermist. It's to help you make better decisions in the field, protect the quality of your trophy, and give your taxidermist the best possible starting point.
And our vision doesn't stop with training.
As TMS Outdoor grows, we intend to share useful outdoor knowledge, thoughtfully selected equipment recommendations, and resources that can help make your time in the field safer, more productive, and more enjoyable.
The technology has changed. The mission hasn't.
We're here to share what we've learned, help you avoid mistakes we've seen firsthand, and give you the confidence to make the most of your hunting experiences.
